Odori Park: Come And Find Ice Sculpture Festival Central.
Odori park (Odori Koen) is a 1.5 km long oasis in the middle of Sapporo, running in an east to west direction from the Sapporo TV Tower to the City Archive Museum.   It pretty much divides the city in half, so if you get lost meandering around and hit the park, you will only be half way lost. Unless you are walking parallel to it...... The park is often used for major events such as the Sapporo Summer Festival when there are beer and food stalls abound as well as bands playing live music. If you are "lucky" you might even be able to try your hand at some public karaoke. Not brave enough to step up to the mic in a public arena? That`s ok me neither, well at least not too often. It still makes a great place for a rest and/or people watching though.  In February it is one of three sites used for the Sapporo Snow Festival.
