Shibuya, Tokyo: Travel in Japanese Clothes?

Shibuya, Tokyo, northwest of Shibuya station, has become the center of Japanese street fashion, culture, and entertainment for the under 35`s of Tokyo. This makes it a great place to go during your Tokyo travel.

Come And Join the Japanese Street Fashion Parade... (Plus Sizes Not Included) Check out the latest Japanese clothes and see if you can spot the coolest in Tokyo fashion. And if you want to discover Japanese trends in streetwear, then Shibuya is probably the place.Although it`s great to wander around and shop, the weekends tend to be extra crowded as if everyone in Tokyo who was born after 1980 has gathered. If you are keen to experience Japanese fashion on a personal level, just remember that one size doesn`t fit all. Sizes here tend to be smaller than their western counterparts. Just ask my arms... Because I am such a tall guy, shopping in Japan for long sleeve shirts that are actually long enough in the arms is next to impossible. Same goes if you: - Have big feet and/or hands - Have long legs - Are looking for plus sizes of any kind Other than that, you should be sweet.
Things To Do In Tokyo: #1 Department Stores.
Department stores are pretty much everywhere in Shibuya and include:- The shopping complex Parco (after the Italian word for park) which is decked out with the hottest Shibuya/Tokyo Fashion. - Tokyu department stores, one of which is in Shibuya station itself. The other is about 10 minutes on foot to the northwest. - Shibuya 109 is the building you don`t want to tell your girlfriend or wife about. It is a popular department store to seek out the latest in young women`s fashion with 10 floors and more than 100 individual stores. -Loft is a very cool store which is similar to Tokyu Hands (below), with plenty of gifts, hobby, interior and lifestyle products. I also highly recommend you check it out because you can often find weird and wonderful products that you just can`t get back home.
 - Tokyu Hands, is a cool (well to me anyway) chain of stores focusing less on fashion and more on Do-It-Yourself, hobby, crafts, stationary, lifestyle, outdoors, etc. It has its flagship store in Shibuya so if you are in anyway creative, I highly recommend this store. I love it. Of course these are just a few of the main ones. You could probably spend a whole month just sightseeing in Tokyo`s Shibuya exploring the multitude of stores all happy to help you spend your money.
Shibuya, Tokyo Attractions: #742, Hachiko Statue, The Meeting Place.
Ok, obviously I made that number up, but one of the most common places to meet friends in Shibuya for locals and the average Tokyo tourist alike is also one of its most famous icons: A statue of Hachiko the dog (from whom the northwest "Hachiko Exit" of the station gets its name). It`s a long story but the short version is that Hachiko waited for his master everyday at the station for him to return from work. Unfortunately, one day his master died and did not return. However, even years after his master had passed away, Hachiko continued to wait, until he too passed on to the next world. Hachiko has since become a symbol of loyalty all over Japan. So if someone is keeping you waiting and it`s making you feel impatient, just remember Hachiko.
